Hot Tuna have always been a live band first and foremost, issuing numerous concert albums over the years. 1999 saw the release of AND FURTHERMORE, a 13-track set recorded during several stops on the 1998 Further Festival, which shows that nearly 30 years (!) after the release of their debut, Hot Tuna are still one of the leading "jam bands" out there. Longtime members Jorma Kaukonen and Jack Casady lead the group through a set split between Jefferson Airplane and Hot Tuna classics, including such standouts as the album opening "I See the Light/Sunny Day Strut," "Third Week in Chelsea," "Watch the North Wind Rise." And what Hot Tuna live set would be without at least one extended track? No need to worry--"Funky #7" breaks the 11-minute mark.
