An American Girl - Chrissa Stands Strong (DVD, 2009)

I bought this for my 6yr. old Twin Grandchildren. I watched it with them. I think the movie was great! I asked them afterwards to tell me what they thought of the movie. My grandson said it's about a bully trying to take away your courage. We had Jason in our class and he picked on everyone. And when he did it to me I told my teacher. I thought they were too young for this movie but, they both understood it. I Highly Recommend it to anyone who has a child, children 6 and over. I bought it because it was an American girl DVD and I thought anything they make is good so this had to be also.

I deciced to buy it because I did student teaching in class with a mean girl problem. I gave it to their teacher. I learned about it at another school and was told there are even lesson plans for it on American girl website.

Love this movie. It is great for teaching your daughter how to deal with bullying. My daughter and I love the American Girl movies.

We enjoyed this movie so much! My girls, 7 years and 10 years, learned valuable life lessons on recognizing bullying signs and their victims' signs of distress. They also learned what to do - which is never to stay silent about it and to report it immediately. This movie should be seen in elementary schools everywhere!

I loved this movie. It was great. My daughter is six years old and is going threw something similar in school. Some girls are been bullying her in school. She really liked this movie because now she says she will tell on them when they bother her. Great movie. By the way i an also lending it to some parents that have their kids in the same classroom.

I have an 8 year old daughter that is going through a similar situation. This movie helped her learn to cope with the bully.

Originally watched this on cable, my 7 year old loves this movie. It is very family appropriate and sends a strong, positive mesg against bullying, particularly from the "tween" girl crowd. Fun fashion to view as well from these 10 year old girls. Highly recommend.

This is a great video for young girls who may be experiencing difficulties at school. There are good lessons on standing up for yourself and dealing with bullies without being a bully yourself.

I purchased this DVD at the request of my 6 year old Granddaughter. Three generations watched it together. Great lesson.

I bought this copy because my daugters misplaced their first copy and have really enjoyed this film. Personally, I would have liked for Chrissa to have spoken out the moment that Tara (her bully) stabbed her with a pencil. The movie was so focused on verbal abuse that it failed to really emphasize that physical abuse is NEVER acceptable.

My kids love the movie and watched a few times. It was in unopened box, never used and shipped fast. No scratches on the DVD. Good Quality!!!.
But it was a sad story though:)

I bought this movie, because a friend of mine reccomended it. I had seen Kit Kitridge and really enjoyed it with my daughter and wanted to buy this one for her. I think it really helps children think about bullying, and it's applicable to what is going on in schools today. Teaches children how to handle bullying.

It really brought the message home, and ended with everyone seeing
that working together is best. It was a very cute movie, made even

Good movie for kids... to help with social issue of bullying. I would strong suggest it for parents and teachers alike. Cant go wrong with this one.

I brought this dvd for my grandaughter, because every time we went to rent it , it had already been rented. Grandaughter has watchted this movie over and over again. its a very good movie for kids to watch. even the grandson enjoyed watching it. We have purchased a few of the American Girl series of DVD's because they all have good morals taught. The grandkids all love the stories. It is nice to see some worthwhile kids movies (and these also can teach some adults good moral behaviours.)

Well-acted, with numerous interesting personalities depicted, this is a charming contemporary tale that portrays persons of various ages struggling to adjust to changes in their life situations. The central theme revolves around incidents of bullying and mean-spirited peer treatment among school children. From reactions I observed among the youngsters who watched the movie with me, it appears that the main points were not overly exaggerated and some valuable lessons were learned.
A wonderful treat for American Girl doll fans, of course, but also recommended as wholesome entertainment for the rest of the family.

My granddaughter watches this over and over, and I've watched it with her. It thoughtfully covers making new friends, extending friendship and loyalty, withholding judgment of others, and handling bullies. This is a painless way to deal with those topics with elementary age children.
