While guitarist Jeff Healey is known for his scorching, dynamic electric blues style, he also has a passion for pre-Swing Era small-band jazz, sometimes known as traditional jazz, a genre known for breakneck tempos, hot soloing, and danceable rhythms. The music is perfectly suited for Healey, and he shines here not only as a guitarist/singer but as a trumpeter as well. Jazz purists may balk, but what Healey lacks in brass technique he more than makes up for with sheer, contagious delight.
