Amityville 2 - The Possession (DVD, 2005)

I bought the Amityville 2' the posession and was immediately impressed with the movie, It´s very good horror movie, I'd recommend the movie if you're on a budget.

Very good scary movie. Based on the creepy true story. This is the prequel to the original. For any fans of the 80's horror genre!!!!!!!!!

This film is not quite as good the first movie. If you have the chance to view this movie, take it, but it would not be worth buying for your DVD collection.

Received dvd in a very timely fashion and at a great price. Would love to buy more from this seller.

i did love everything about this movies and there was no dislikes about it and since i purchase this movie i have watch it four times. i decided to buy it because it was a reasonable price

This too from the Collection I enjoyed this is the story that got things rollen for all the movies in the set....

i love anything to do with the amityville horror i know fact from fiction so it makes the movies a little more fun....

I saw this movie way back in the 80's, I think 8 years old. Until recently I couldn't remember the name of the movie, all I could remember is this...
A holy water staff spews blood, a kid hears voices and eventually shoots away his family, and a birthday party. I was trying to find this movie with those three plot points but no one could help me. I thought "I know the Amityville series pretty well" and didn't even think that my "mystery" movie could be one of the Amityville's until a year ago.(2007) I decided to watch Amityville 2 on the Encore Mystery channel, not realizing until about half way through that this was my "mystery" movie.
Maybe not as effective as it was when I was young and impressionable, but this film still has a horrible sense of dread, and plays nothing for laughs....well intentionally. The very end is a little silly, and the leads are not very likable even before they all start losing it, but I still found it to be the scariest and most disturbing of the Amityville bunch.

I didn't like this version as well as the first.
It had its good parts and the basic storyline was good but it didn't follow the book or the original movie's storyline as well as it could have.
For instance, the son who killed his family was older than Sonny and had a motorcycle and went into the bar and reported the murder. In the original the bartender is shaken by Brolin's character's resemblance to the son who killed his family in the Amityville house.
All in all, it's a good movie and worth a watch it's a welcome addition to anyones horror movie library especially if they are collectors of all things Amityville.
