The author of this book, Merlin Tuttle, is the No. 1 expert on bats in America and the founder of Bat Conservation International for the promotion of bat species and habitat. This book draws on his knowledge of and love of bats. It is a good basic guide to bat biology and behavior in the United States and contains descriptions of the most commonly found bats. I found the book totally engrossing and I recommend it to all bat lovers, in America and beyond!
