Father of UDT- Captivating
As a midshipman going to the Academy, like Draper, and as someone who's applying for the NAVY SpecOps/EOD community, this book was more than fascinating to me.
It was interesting for the author, who had a personal connection with the Mr. Kauffman, to go between relationships with his family members, especially his father, and his professional career. I particularly found it fascinating when he was establishing the different training schools, as well as the intense action in the Pacific and UK during WWII. I recommend this to anyone interested in history, SEALS/EOD, WWII, or the military in general. It is an outstanding display of heroism, courage, and the willingness to do what everyone else calls either insane or impossible- and to do it well. I have learned a lot from this book on leadership.
