American Wife by Curtis Sittenfeld (2008, Hardcover)

I read a lot of books, and few are really well-written or have a great cast of characters that carry the reader through to the last page with interest intact. That's what this book does - holds your interest and shows you that the main character always did have a strong personality, that blossoms and unfolds through each chapter, and with a good ending. I really enjoyed this read. And although it's pure fiction, knowing the first family it's emulating, it's fun to put a face on the characters portrayed.
