Even though it was used, it arrived in great condition... I was a gift for a friend, and I looked at several retail stores before I found out it was no longer in print/circulation. I turned to ebay and found it for VERY cheap... My friend loves this movie so much and said that it's probably the best present I've ever given her.

One of the first animation studios to challange Disney for the toddler and pre-teen audiences.And they did a pretty good job too! A very engaging story paralleling the immigrants coming to America.Voice talents abound, and a true contender to disney's hold on the feature animated film.Definitly worth watching with your kids.

I remember watching this as a child. I LOVED it then and I still love it. I bought the 2set VHS before my kids were born and when the VHS broke I came straight to E-bay to find it on DVD. I always want this in our video library. My kids love it and I always find time to sit down with them to watch this one. I also have the 3 other videos in the American Tale Series.

We loved the music from the movie and also loved the feel good story and happy ending. I decided to buy it for my daughter because she was singing the music from the movie in her school choir. We had watched it years ago when she was younger but had never purchased the film to keep in our collection. The story is timeless - the historical aspect is awesome, allowing children to learn about immigrants who came to this country because of persecution in their own homelands. It also allows children to learn the value of friendship - taking in someone who needs help. It also helps reinforce the value of family and how important each individual family member is to the unit as a whole. The movie not only has great lessons in it for children - but it also is amusing and the music is great. I highly recommend it.

An AMAZING tale....
) This is a fantastic movie for kids... and adults alike. It is humorous, poiniant, adorable, moves right along... it is a wonderful movie for any children of immigrant parents who have braved coming to America for the good of their family... and how it takes ingenuity, courage, and heart to make the transition. My family immigrated in 1910 on a ship from Russia... they experienced the same hardships and adventures of this family in the story.
Fievel Mouskowitz is the main character ... a delight. In this day of movies you cringe at when you watch them with your kids... or cover their ears or eyes.... no worries with this one... it is truely a G movie.,.. and not boring for any age., I didn't dislike on thing in it,.. I bought 4 copies... one for my son's kids... for my daughter's kids (all my grandkids) .... for a new immigrant family with children,,,, and of course.... one for me.
