American Standard by Seven Mary Three (CD, Sep-1995, Atlantic USA)

When this cd was released in 1995 the song "Cumbersome" was a huge hit. I owned the cd the week it was released and found that the band had a great approach to both the lyrics and the music. Unlike a lot of the other bands from this time, 7M3 was more lyrical rock/pop and less about grunge (which is why I liked it so much). This band really stands out as one of the better new ones from this time period, its just too bad that this is the only title that produced a hit for them, after this release they kinda went into quiet obscurity and due to that fact you can now get their music cd's for give-away prices here on ebay. Check it out, you can actually buy this title now for a $1 or $2, no kidding! If you like good guitar rock with really good story-telling tunes then you'll like this cd, I guarantee it.

i ordered a cd,was told it may take a while to get it,i got it right away,a major plus with me.the music cd ,is hard to find.it was used,but is in brand new condition.sounds perfect,no skips.and best of all,it only cost me $1.00,plus shipping.i've listened to it everyday since i got it,to practice my vocals &pick up the music,i'll be able to do a flawless cover of some of the songs at our next show,only because the cd is clear & undamaged.it's as perfect as new,i own over 1000 cd's,this one is as good as the best one's i have.

I bought the CD for one song only, but ended up like several songs on the CD. It's a good CD and keeps you rockin' for the most part.

I bought this cd because it is an awesome c.d. and I like the music. The cover had some wear, but that was to be expected. That did not have any effect on the playing of the c.d. It was in excellent condition.

This CD ROCKS. Seven Mary Three burst on the scene with "Cumbersome", but in all honesty, it is probably my least favorite song on the disk. Unfortunately, after the release of American Standard, the record label that they were on collapsed, and it was a few years before the next CD, Rock Crown, came out. By that time, many people had forgotten about them, or didn't like the fact that Rock Crown wasn't "American Standard Part 2" and there was no remake of Cumbersome on there - the band had moved in a new direction! In the words of Jason Ross (vocals) "it was commercial suicide". However, to many 7M3 fans, Rock Crown is THE seven mary three CD.

i liked the fact that i was accidently late on sending the money order out, but i still got the cd on time. and it was a great cd.
