This book is not pop prophecy -- not even close. That is, it's not simply someone's errant interpretation of The Book of Revelation or idle speculation about the future. Actually, the most interesting part of the book, in my opinion, was the historical perspective. Really Amazing.
I read Michael D. Evans's Beyond Iraq and was very impressed with how he developed his thesis which was, in fact, later borne out in actual events. It offered amazing insight into the roots of the turmoil in the Middle East and an uncanny understanding of where these events were heading -- and since have gone.
In this book, the author demonstrates exceptional expertise with regard to the history of United States' meandering between support or lack thereof for a Jewish Homeland going back many decades -- surprisingly hundreds of years even to the foundation of the United States. He explains why he believes this on-again-off-again approach has been the case. The author names names and credits those who have stood with moral clarity on the issues. On the other hand, he names names and discredits those who have been opponents or those who talked a good game all the while avoiding action or actively undermining the progress toward or survival of the Jewish Homeland.
Then Mr. Evans demonstrates how the historically recorded passages of Scripture upon which various United States Presidents have laid their hand during administration of the Oath of Office have turned out to be prophetic regarding said president -- and not always in the way that President would have hoped. It is amazing to learn which passages George Washington, Abraham Lincoln, Jimmy Carter, Bill Clinton, George Bush and others chose and how those passages proved prophetic indeed. It is also amazing to learn who the real proponents were and are of what has become the State of Israel and who impeded the creation of Israel or jeopardized Israel's existence -- and specifically how they did that!
I say that because the author details specifically how some of our previous leaders have sold Jews and Israel "down the river" while retaining Jewish and Christian political support. He delineates even more specifically how GOD regards the Jewish people and Israel. The author demonstrates how, in the past, those who have blessed the Jewish people and Israel have been blessed as God promised. In like manner, he demonstrates how those who cursed the Chosen People and Israel fared and suggests how those who do not bless, or do in fact curse, the Jewish people and Israel in the future will fare.
Bottom line: the author says the handwriting is on the wall, has been, in fact, for a long time -- in the form of a Covenant -- and that that "handwriting" is clearly and unequivocally demonstrated, historically.
I believe it is a very important book, and one that should be read and re-read, critically validated through personal research, and judged on this author's past works and future events. If you take this challenge, my dollar to your donut, you will be amazed as I have been!
Finally, I recommend this book to anyone who want to develop a better understanding what's going on in the Middle East and why it's happening.
