ESSENTIAL REFERENCE ON HAND PAINTED CHINA

If you are a seller of china or collect hand painted porcelain, this is an essential reference book that will add extensively to your knowledge of the craft that took America by storm in the early 1900s. Ms Kamm not only is a china painter herself, but has done the history research! This book will help you understand what is missing in the much touted Limoges books...that blanks from Europe were imported by the hundreds of thousands and painted by Americans and Canadians ranging from youngsters, to housewives, to professionals...yes, including men. The vase majority of porcelain that sellers think is from France because it is marked Limoges(green mark) ....well, yes, the blank was, but the painting was probably by an amateur. I have owned this book for years, and bought a second copy to give to a new collector. Ms Kamm also has another book by the same title, different publisher, and that one deals with the uses of the various pieces, from the boudoir to the dining room. Get them both!
