American Fish Decoys by Steven Michaan (2005)
This is a beautiful book. From the silvered edges, heavy weight paper and unique printing technique, the decoys show great detail and just seem to jump off the page. Each decoy shown commands its own page with a brief description on the facing page. While brief in dialogue, it does give a synopsis of the history of the fish decoy and of specific areas and carvers important to this art form. It is a book made to be enjoyed over and over and displayed just for its beauty. Its major flaw is in the last page when you realize there is no more.
