Movie Description
A deadly heart ailment that affected thousands of "blue babies" was successfully fought by an unlikely pair. A white heart surgeon, Dr. Alfred Blalock, and Vivien Thomas, a black man whose skin color precluded him from attending college in the Jim Crow South, teamed together to make major advancements in cardiac medicine and heart surgery. Morgan Freeman narrates this documentary which chronicles the two men's discoveries.
