Album Notes Three decades into their career, Amazing seek to prove that pioneering reggae/dancehall duo Sly & Robbie are still amazing themselves, mostly by creating a contemporary urban-music tapestry over their trademark drum and bass. The most rewarding results arrive on songs like "Dancing Idiot," which incorporates an Indian strain into their generally Western Hemisphere-leaning instincts. The title track, along with album highlights like "Hurry Home," rely on the seductive yearnings of female R&B vocals to complement the traditional riddims which dictate these largely laconic grooves. Meanwhile, "Keep The Light" reinforces the duo's Rasta spirituality while coasting along on dubby double-tracked vocals. Staying current as ubiquitous producers and collaborators, Sly & Robbie have lived up to this record's bold title.
