all i have to say is that this movie made me cry. good family movie. i had to buy the dvd when i seen it

That Sean Penn did not win an Oscar for his work in this film is surprising. Dakota Fanning and Michelle Pfeiffer are also very good, but this is really Penn's film. There is some language and sexual references that are inappropriate for small children, but for adults and teens the strength of the story outweighs the questionable elements. I recommend this film 100%.

I originally saw this movie in the movie theater and it always stuck with me to the point where I wanted to see it again so i bought it. Sean Penn is unbelievable and Dakota Fanning terrific. This is a movie you can really get into. I highly recommend this film to watch atleast once, you won't be dissappointed. Enjoy!

this movie is very well done with awsome acting. a dramatic story about real life troubles and hardships.
this movie is about a man who will forever have the intelligence of a 7yr old, a homeless woman uses him for shelter pretending to be his girlfriend, she gets pregnent and after the birth of the baby abandons it.
the man who makes min wage at starbucks is left to raise this baby all on his own as a single father. when the little girl turns 7 all of a sudden it becomes a fight to try and keep the little girl.
the man goes through so many complications and whats so hard on him is he doesnt understand what is going on, he tries to hire a lawyer but has no sense of money management or numbers, amongst other surprises to him.
its amazing the way he touches peoples lives, the foster parents, the lawyers, his neighbor whom helped raise the little girl.

I didn't think my kids would take to this movie but they loved it my 5 year old watches it like 4 times a week . has a little something for the whole family i think dakota fanning is a very talented little girl .

A subject that is never talked about until now. Wow, keep your tissues handy, Sean Penn does an excellent job!!

Bought this movie as a Christmas gift for my dad!My dad has been looking for this movie and I found it cheaper at Red Tag!

Anyone with a caring heart will enjoy this! Personally, being disabled terminally, I cried the entire way through it1 :) It openly shows a widely unknown challenge an awful lot of people face every day. watch andenjoy! This is an amazing performance by sean Penn, I've watched about twenty times, and cried every time! Enjoy and learn :)

WOW! I cant say if this was a true story. But what if it was? A very touching film that can and will make you very emotional. Young & old alike will enjoy this movie. Incredible performances by the actors that will have you glues to your seat.

I had heard others speak about this movie and decided to take a look myself. It is a marvelous movie. Sean Penn and Dakota Fanning both give stunning performances in this work of art. It plays out from beginning to end magnificently. Well written and well acted. It is quite funny and very touching. Put it on pause before you go anywhere because you will not want to miss a drop of this wonderful movie.

I bought this movie because it is one of my all time favorites and I wanted to have it. The acting it suberb, the storyline is so moving. I would recommend any person to take some time out to watch this gem.

This is a movie I really like because of the special bond with the daughter and the dad. He is mentally challenged but loves her as much, maybe more, than any other parent. I had the VHS tape and got rid of it, in favor of just DVD's in my collection.

This is the best acting I think I have seen since Dustin Hoffman's "Rain Man"! Sean Penn is remarkable! A must see film for everyone!

Good movie. One of my Favorite movie. I brought it beacuse my one of my friend kids broke my other one. So they said they would buy me another one but didn't. So I brought it myself. It my Favorite movie.

Great Movie It will make a father cry luagh and get mad and fear. I love the realtics of our time of day and that it show common disable people can overcome and thing thrown at the cause when it come to raising kids we all

Sean Penn does an excellent acting job in this movie. I draws the audience to him and makes you feel all the emotions he is feeling. This is a wonderful movie. It will make you happy then mad then sad then happy again. Must see.
