Synopsis A tawny bunny outfitted in a cheery yellow shirt and red overalls, Nicholas lives in the hollow of a large and leafy tree. The little rabbit enjoys the seasons, and shares his experiences through the year. The bright daffodils and zippy butterflies of spring delight him, while summer brings relaxed days watching birds flit among the strawberries and frogs leap about the pond. If it rains, there's always an enormous toadstool to stand under, and when it's sunny, lots of dandelion seeds to blow. The orangy days of fall are all about playing in the leaves and seeing how the forest animals prepare for winter. After playing in the snow that winter brings, Nicholas finally snuggles up in his tree and dreams of spring. Though Richard Scarry is primarily known for his clear-cut B&W line drawings filled with color, this book features lush, colorful paintings.
