Synopsis An illustrated version of a Scottish song about a man named Lachie MacLachlan. Lachie is so generous that, one stormy night, he invites every traveler he sees to join him, his wife, and his 10 children in their small house. Before too long, Lachie's house is so full of people that it literally bursts apart. Three-color illustrations accompany the text, which includes a glossary of Scottish words. Winner of the 1966 Caldecott Medal.
