Always Looking Up by Michael J. Fox (2009, Hardcover)

This is a great book for anyone who has a friend or family member who suffers from Parkinsons.The way that Micheal descibes his feelings during his "off" time really created a picture and helped me to understand why someone with this dreaded disease does the things that they do.My Mother was diagnosed over 10 years ago and is steadily getting worse.She is currently reading it herself and has remarked how it makes her feel better to read about Micheals positive attitude.You will not be disappointed!!

This book is a sort of a personal Michael's diary since the day his Parkinson's Disease has been unveiled. Michael writes from a very passionate and personal perspective his views on stem cell research, the most meaningful relationships to date with family, relatives, friends and colleagues, politics and the importance of running and taking care of a non-profit institution that gives support to other PD patients.

What makes this book so pleasant to read is just that: it looks just like a personal diary we wish we had surreptitiously found and then, after finish reading, one would say: "I know this guy now, he is a normal person, who laughs, cries, argues, feels pain and thinks, just like all of us, and I could relate to his story at some points".

This book picked up where "Lucky Man" left off and filled the reader in on what has been going on in Michael's life since leaving "Spin City" in 2000. It told about his faith, family, politics (stem-cell reseach) and what he has done career-wise. It was quite informative.

I read this book after seeing Michael J. Fox's ABC special. This book was written with an easy to read, fun style. It is autobiographical and inspiring. I would definitely recommend it to anyone.

This is a really good book. However, I did not like some of the language that
was used. I do understand tho that this is how the Parkinson patient feels.

My Mother has this same disease and I know she feels the same way and so do I
as her Primary Care Caregiver.

The book is very motivating, makes you think and smile. It is also full of great quotes which I still use.

I bought this book because I like to read about people. This book is a great read and very interesting to learn more about Michael J. Fox and his plight with Parkinson's Disease. It is very heartwarming and inspiring.

Instead of being a book that flows like life, Michael J Fox wrote this book in chunks, with each section being a different aspect of his life. It seemed a little confusing until I figured that out. It is well written, being quite descriptive, especially about his stem cell research drive! His discussion about being Jewish was something I never knew, but I'm glad he felt that it is important to his life! The book is for two book discussion groups I'm involved with.

THE REASON I BOUGHT THIS BOOK IS BECAUSE I REALLY LIKE MICHAEL J. FOX AS AN ACTOR AND I WANTED HEAR ABOUT HIS STORY AND LEARN MORE ABOUT THIS DISEASE THAT HE HAS. I HOPING WITH THE INFORMATION THAT HE GIVES ME THAT I CAN MORE UNDERSTAND WHAT HE IS GOING THROUGH ON A DAY TO DAY BASIS.

I've always been a fan of the actor and look forward to reading his book. The book's description was titled as brand new and that's how it came to me. The pages were in excellent condition with no marks or rips. It arrived within the time amount that I was told. I was very pleased with my purchase!

This book was awful. I love Michael J. Fox and liked his other book and expected the same. He had chapters and chapters of whining about Parkinson's (ok, we know you have it) and legislation about Parksinson's. I am very disappointed and will donate the book to the library. (if they will accepted it)

Why did I buy it? Because I loved his last book.....this one was even better. A true "MUST READ!" Couldn't put it down.
