Alternative Cures by Bill Gottlieb (2000, Hardcover)

I absolutely LOVE this book. There is a ton of information on a vast amount of topics for anyone interested in natural remedies. There are cautions(which I appreciate)about when it is necessary to seek medical attention. Drugs are a blight on our society and should ONLY be taken when absolutely necessary. Some of the information I have read in other places backing up what the author is saying. It is very well researched. I have bought several copies to give to others that may benefit. Europeans seek natural remedies(many more European doctors prescribe "natural" before using drugs), thus not suffering what may be the devastating side effects of drugs. ALL drugs have side effects, some of which are very serious. Drugs also play havoc with the immune system. So, if you haven't read it I heartily suggest that you do. Americans are sicker now than ever before, and drugs try to "fix" you. But they don't "prevent" what's wrong in the first place. I am also going to look for a doctor that will use natural remedies along with a prescription drugs if that is necessary. Americans have become a drug dependant society, to our shame. The next generation will be walking zombies if we don't wise up. Give the book a try-you'll be glad you did!

I like the book because it offers exactly what it says, alternatives cures that you can remedy yourself at home before seeking medical advice. Many times I have found things you can do as a home remedy work better and far cheaper than running to the doctor. Now there are situations where medical help may be necessary and I am not against that at all, this is just a nice guide for things to consider that many times can be taken careof yourself ot as preventative measures to avoid medical intervention.

this is a very informative book. There is alot of good information on natural healing. Very easy to understand. Well written and I highly recommend the book to anyone who is tied of the traditional approach to medicine.
