Possibly the greatest metal album ever.

Around 1985, a band named Morbid Angel formed in Tampa, Fl. Featuring a crazed guitar maniac dubbed Trey Azagthoth, they would release their debut album, Altars of Madness shortly thereafter. This album is so ridiculous you have to hear it to believe it. Azagthoth's ability is off the charts; the songs are tight and feature intriguing rhthym patterns as well as coherent lyrics (of a Necronimicon bent). In my opinion, this is the band's best album. These guys take the style of Possessed to the next level.
