Alpine CDA-9887 Car CD/ MP3 Player

The CDA-9887 is undeniably the best head-unit you can buy for your car at this time. It has a very wide range of features and the Alpine Imprint technology makes this the top of the line. It's priced high for a reason.

The way I see it, the Alpine CDA-9887 is like Learjet and all other headunits are Geo Metros....

Always used and loved the Alpine stereo head units. Main reason for the upgrade to the cda-9887 was for the mulitple color changing feature.

I love all the color options and every color looks great!!! Perfect!!!

I upgraded the Bose OEM stereo on my 2008 Nissan Rogue to the CDA-9887 and it was like switching from AM to CD quality of sound. Don't get me wrong, the bose stereo was pretty sweet, but this is ridiculous, it takes great sound to a whole new level.

Doing all the adjustments is quite the hassle, and I feel like I need to be some kind of engineer to tune the damn thing, but once it's done... it's magic.

The iPod interface is quite nice too.

You can not go wrong with Alpine.

The reason I bought this model was the quality of the sound, which is done by Burr-Brown ICs, the imprint sound processing and audyssey.
What I dislike is :
a)that Alpine has 2 different models 9887 and 9887R for the radio. 9887 is only for America's frequencies (200KHz stepping of frequency) and 9887R for European (100KHz stepping of frequency).
b)some optional parts (PDC sounds through 9887 and steering wheel buttons for handling 9887) for the BMW 116i are not compatible. I hope in the future Alpine will make a progress on this matter.

I have bought new Car CD / MP3 Player Alpine CDA-9887. After installation in the car I have been amazed by quality of a sound. On equipment functions even there are no wishes. There is all that is necessary. In use very convenient player. The radio range completely corresponds to the specification in Russia. The only thing that was not pleasant - names of songs in Russian are not displayed.

The Alpine CDA-9887 CD player is a testament to the extensive research and development Alpine has endured for many, many years. The functionality is simplistic yet innovative and the design is familiar though it expresses a clear understanding of the craftsmanship that has always been incorporated in all of Alpine's products. Simply put, this is an outstanding unit and only further richens the possibilities of future designs.

Lets face it. As if being the top of the line Alpine isnt enough, adding the Imprint EQ function make it the most impressive head unit to date!

I love this receiver because of all its different functionalities. The reason I bought this receiver is due to the on board Imprint. I have always been an Alpine receiver fan. The unit hasn't been in stalled for very long so I haven't been able to find any faults or dislikes as of yet. If I had to do it over I would purchase this item again, and also recommend it very high on choices of a head unit.
