Movie Description
A difficult gestation period led to Nick Cassavetes's ALPHA DOG being delayed and facing possible legal battles after the real-life subject of the film (alleged kidnapper and murderer Jesse James Hollywood) objected to his portrayal. The cinematic version of Hollywood is named Johnny Truelove and played by Emile Hirsch (LORDS OF DOGTOWN). Truelove is a wild 18-year-old who deals drugs for a living and hangs out with his posse, who revolve around a core of Frankie (Justin Timberlake), Elvis (Shawn Hatosy), and Tiko (Fernando Vargas). When a client of Truelove's, Jake Mazursky (Ben Foster), is unable to pay off his crystal-meth debt, the group kidnaps his 15-year-old stepbrother, Zack (Anton Yelchin), who becomes a Patty Hearst-like accomplice in his own abduction. Indeed, Zack positively revels in his new position, and lives it up with the boys at every opportunity he gets. But Cassavetes's film really revs into gear as the cops close in on Truelove's band of outsiders, and they face a tough decision about what to do with Zack.

The real draw here is Justin Timberlake, and he makes a decent job of his role as a bodyguard/friend to the kidnapped kid. Covered in tattoos and oozing testosterone, Timberlake revels in his role, and his female following will find plenty to gush over here. The film itself is executed at a lightning-fast pace, with quick jump cuts and on-screen captions that point out who the witnesses in the case were. Cassavetes plays around with split-screen techniques and nonlinear storytelling, but he remains acutely aware of what his young target audience is seeking from a modern crime drama, not letting the tension drop for a second. Small roles for Sharon Stone and Bruce Willis provide suitable support to the young cast, and a thumping rap and metal soundtrack supplies a perfect backdrop to the explosive on-screen shenanigans.

      A gritty disturbing true story

This was based on true story and that is the most disturbing part of this whole movie. You just can’t make this stuff up. It is just too weird and unsettling.
Justin Timberlake steels the show here. He is gritty and shows he can really act.
It is violent and has strong language so if this is not your thing stay away.
If you want to see a movie that is disturbing and gritty then this is for you

Justin Timberlake breaks out of the Boy Band and into the Movies!! Alpha Dog is Based on a True Tragic Story of how Things can spiral out of Control quickly when Dealing Drugs are involved. The Opening scene begins with a Gathering in a Lavish Suite of the Young Drug Lord. This scene sets the Tone and Hierarchy of the Close Circle of Friends, some of whom are obviously just the brainless leg-men. The Plot Thickens when a Large Deal with a Drug User/Distributor outside of the circle of friends turns south when the debt cannot be repaid. The Kingpin devises a diabolical plot to strike revenge against the Deadbeat User by Kidnapping his Innocent Adolescent Brother. One thing leads to another and Justin Ends up being the "Babysitter" and befriending the Kidnapped boy even letting him party and hang out with him at parties unrestrained. My Heart went out to the Naive Boy who actually had chances/offers to escape but decides instead to hang out with his Newfound "Friend". Knowing the Conclusion of the Movie was inevitable it was Sad watching a Young Boy Live, Love and Learn his Last Day! The ending was very Moving watching the Tearful Exchange between the Victim and Justin.
The Performances of Justin and the Kid were Sensational. They put you actually in the moment of the Tragic Events. Justin is full of Tatoos and Often shirtless which only adds to this Truth Based Tragic Story!! I recommend this movie to be watched with the whole family as a Very Valuable Lesson about Drugs and Misplaced Loyalties can be learned by all! Thank You for Reading!! Happy Ebaying!
