Sebold's new book, "The Almost Moon," is very dark. The story is about Helen Knightly who steps over the line into the unthinkable....murder! For many years Helen has given of herself. Her life spent with a mother who suffered a variety of demons, her secretive father, her two daughter and ex-husband. The story unfolds in a 24 hour period when late one afternoon her life presses in on her in a way she never imagined. This book explores the provocative ties between mothers and daughters, wives and lovers, and the meaning of love and hate.
A gripping story....deeper than her last "The Lovely Bones." Devastating details and insight into Helen.
