  N64 all-star baseball 2000
Review created: 06/05/08

I bought all star baseball 2000 because of the great review it had on gamespot. The pitch selection and location along with the swing location and timing is essentially what this game is about, and they simulate it quite well. The hits themselves aren't so indicative of the real game. There are too many deep lazy flies, soft hits back to the pitcher, and way way way too many strikeouts (could be our skill level of play though). There needs to be more grounders to the corners. Other than that, this game is very good, and most importantly, very fun. Gamespot was right to give it a near 10.

  Nice game to Rent
Review created: 11/05/00
by: Venusuar21 -- a member of Epinions

Pros:
Very Good Gameplay/Control

Cons:
Weak Graphics, Lousy Music, No Replay Value

I actually bought this game on ebay. I was looking around and saw the top bid was only $8.37, so I bid $10 and won the auction. The game is worth ten bucks. I popped it in the day I got it, and played a few exhibition games. I found the graphics were pretty weak, but everything else seemed to be okay. Batting was pretty easy, unless you were playing the Braves, which seem to strike you out everytime no matter who's pitching. If you select auto-fielding the fielding part is very easy, yet challenging in its own way. The reason I would only recommend renting it is because it is far too easy....

  Acclaim knows Baseball
Review created: 11/11/00

Pros:
All-star voting, pitching, batting, the realism

Cons:
Some of the batters faces look weird.

From playing other titles from Acclaim such as WWF Attitude, NFL Quarter Back Club 99 and 2000, and South Park I was not expecting much from this game. I only bought it because it was so cheap at a Block Buster. Man was I suprised when I played it. It took the place of Ken Griffey Jr. baseball as my favorite baseball game. This game is great. It has real players with the anouncer calling there names as they step to the plate. A great Home Run Derby mode, season modes, and creat a player mode. The controls took me a while to get. A day or too. The power hits and things in batting and having to.

  All-Star Baseball 2000 Review
Review created: 04/12/00
by: Jamesoo7 -- a member of Epinions

Pros:
Much Better Graphics

Cons:
Poor Sound Quality

Last year, N64 baseball fans were treated to a triple threat of baseball games, none of which, to be honest, were what we were looking for. I won't mention StrikeZone, but I ended up enjoying Griffey more than ASB '99. Foremost was game speed. A game in ASB99 would take about an hour, with Griffey taking 25 minutes or so, tops. Acclaim has done a great job with the new edition of ASB. The graphics: What else is there to say? Add even more animation to last year's breathtaking effort, along with an instant replay mode, and you've got yourself perhaps the most beautiful looking baseball game in.

  What a game!
Review created: 04/10/00
by: bustatre -- a member of Epinions

Pros:
Four players, good graphics, inning control, create a player, batting modes

Cons:
cost of all n64 games

All-Star Baseball 2000 is one of the best N64 games out on the market. The creators of this game went way out of their way to portray Major League Baseball at its best. The graphics are the best of its genere and the game play is awesome! Remember when you could only play two players for a baseball game? Since it is a four player game, ASB2000 is a way to have fun with a whole group of people with everyone getting an equal chance to play. Short on time? ASB2000 gives you the chance to play any amount of innings. If you want to, you could play a whole season of one inning games! The Create-A...

  A Big Hit
Review created: 12/15/99
by: Coug11 -- a member of Epinions

Pros:
Graphics and Reality level

Cons:
There are alot of buttons to use

This game's graphics are excellent. If you want to have the entertainment and fun of playing a easy to learn and realistic game, yet also have the ability to think like you are really on the field, this game is for you. You will never believe how realistic this game is. From the exact batting stances of major leaguers to the ripple of every muscle, you will feel like you are actually in the stadium. You can even slide around tags. The different levels of play allows all skill levels of people to enjoy. If you like watching bombs go out of the park, you'll love the home run derby. For every...
