Funny Book About Humans And Animals

This was the last book written by Erma Bombeck, and it is just as funny as the other 12. Jane Goodall observed gorillas in their natural habitat and reported her observations. In this book, Erma Bombeck emulates Goodall, except she observes and reports on the behavior of human beings. There are 38 chapters, and each starts with a news event or factoid about a particular animal. Then Bombeck launches into an aspect of human behavior which is similar. Subjects include mating habits, pregnancy, dieting, exercise, shopping malls, health care, raising children, and every other slice-of-life topic you'd expect to see in an Erma Bombeck work.
The book is a great read, but I would also highly recommend the audiobook, which is inexpensive and accessible, at least in cassette form. This is a great book to listen to in the car or while doing chores. Some audio books are so dense with text that they're difficult to listen to while driving, but this kind of light-hearted humor book works very well. You can tune in and out, start and stop at pretty much any point.
