All-In-One CompTIA A+ Certification Exam Guide by Michael Meyers, Scott Jernigan (2003, Package)

I NEVER RECEIVED THE ITEM!!!! This man David Thomas took my money from paypal and he never sent me the item. I have no money to go back to school so I was going to school myself w/ this book. Now I'm out almost $40. and Paypal wants to charge me $25. to look at this situation. Does'nt make much sense to me. I'm upset that paypal lets people get away with that. I've not had very good luck w/ ebay or paypal.

Although it's an old Edition of the book, Still it contains all the Vital information needed of an IT Specialist. I'll order another for my friend as a Present... He's also an IT Specialist.

Be warned, this book is not a quick crib sheet! There's well over 1000 pages here, covering every aspect of both the hardware and the OS exams. If you've left all your studying to the last minute, this won't help.

But - if you've decided that you truly want to understand the material, and aim for a really good score on the A+ tests, then this is an absolutely invaluable book. My partner used it for his exam, and scored well above average. I learned quite a bit too! It also comes with a CD in the back, although it was missing from the copy I bought, so I can't vouch for the content.

It's also a good book even for casual readers, although some of the material the tests cover is really quite old (I thought manual setup of IRQs died out with DOS?)

Don't be alarmed by the age of the book (2003) - last time I checked (2006!), all the material was still relevant to the current A+ exam. It's also the only really complete reference guide out there, as far as I know.

What I like about it: Price, same material was anywhere from 200 - 1400 dollars in the consumer market. This book was fraction of cost. Contains all material needed to get my A+ computer certification. Rating the book is difficult at this time as I have not had chance to read the 1000 pages, so I gave it a rating of GOOD.

Dislike - Now I have homework to do to prepare for A+ certification test.

Why bought - need the certification

Purchased this book in order to study for the A+ certification. Excellent book with loades of information. The author makes you feel very comfortable, giving little tidbits of history along the way.

I have a strong interest in PC Repair & Maintenance and I've decided to try and break into the IT field. I bought this book to help prepare myself for the A+ Certification Exam. I like this book because it is very thorough and covers all topics pertaining to the exam.

I liked that it was very detailed and that it had the material that is expected for the A+ test. It has a good way of explaining and it gives you a quiz at the end of the reading to make sure that you have captured all the important information.
