All Creatures Great and Small - Series Two Set (DVD, 2009, Alpha 4 Pack)

Having read the books and watched the series on tv years ago, I knew what a treat this series was and certainly was not disappointed. The series was so well done and the actors so real. I thoroughly enjoy the experience of owning the DVD. I wish I could afford all of them.

This set is still the classic gem of the series as is series one. Well written, great camera work and wonderful characters. None of that un natural bright television studio lighting you find in the surgery etc. in the later series that sort of ruins the effect. You feel at home with James as he takes you along on his daily rounds and bites his tongue at the aggrivating advise given by his senior partner. Classic laughs, loves and struggles of a vet in a country practice. Truly a classic that everyone will enjoy. Don't miss this one

I read all of the books and had to see the series. It is wonderful! If you love animals, rustic English countryside and a simple way of life you will truely enjoy this series.

This is a marvelous family series set in the English countryside in the late 1930s, early 40s. A Veterinary, his partners and wife, deal with farm animals, pets and country folk.
Its based on true-life stories of an English vet who writes under the pen name of James Herriott.
If you like animals, country folk, stories of England, Yorkshire views, this is great.
I've seen it on PBS and wanted to have it to watch whenever I like. I've already seen this series at least 4 times, but I could watch it a couple dozen and not see it enough.
