All Creatures Great and Small - Series One Set (DVD, 2009, Alpha 4 Pack)

Great fun!!I was fortunate to see this series when it was on years ago, and took a trip to England, North Yorkshire, James Harriet's actual town, in 1986. Was double fortunate to meet one of his farmer clients, and to visit James Harriet at his Vet Clinic on a day when he met his fans and signed autographs!! I met him, took a picture with him, and it made my whole trip!!! I plan on buying the complete series. Fun, funny, interesting and well done!

Series 1 is really the charm and the magic starting for this series. Well written, lovely surroundings and a real home/comfortable feel. Filming seems more natural than later series and does not have that un natural lighting inside the surgery etc. Characters are developed with each episode with James getting introduced to flopbot, boring out, lugoils the list goes on. Funny, charming and generally beautiful. Of course, these are the episodes with the original Helen in them and we get to see them....well James, fumbing around like a love sick pup. True magic! A quality classic you will not be dissapointed in. Wonderful, wholesome entertainment.
