Alien Apocalypse (DVD, 2007)

What do you do when giant cockroaches take over the world and make mankind thier slaves?...you get Rene O'Conner and Bruce Campbell. Another Scifi Channel film, Fun, and not too gory for the kids. Well if you don't mind a few heads being bitten off by the insect race...It's a matter of taste...bad pun.

As always. Bruce impresses.

This movie is freakin' awesomely INSANE! It's a cross between PLANET OF THE APES and STARSHIP TROOPERS, with just a hint of ARMY OF DARKNESS! So if your'e a fan of any of the titles I have listed, then get this movie NOWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW!

This film is really silly but also fun. Alien Apocalypse stars Bruce Campbell. (star of Evil Dead movies) Campbell stars as arrogant astronaut Ivan Hood, who along with three colleagues, including love interest Kelly (Renee O'Connor), return to Earth after a 40-year stint in space only to discover that it's been conquered by extremely large termite-like alien race who like to eat delicacies such as human heads and fingers! Although the surviving humans are being used as slave labor, Ivan convinces several jittery volunteers to participate in an uprising, despite the fact that they are vastly outnumbered and outgunned.
Saying that the plot isnt one that would be taken seriously (bunch of huge termite aliens take over the world so they can use the humans to work in sawmills, sell wood and make money??) but Bruce Campbell's fabulous sarcasm and hilarious one-liners make the film. The final scenes in the film are the best with the doctor leading his raggy bunch of freedom fighters against the termites and heads are bitten with blood spurting and bug limbs are chopped off with lots of bright green slime. Totally ridiculous and totally cheesy but still a great tv movie.
