Alice in Wonderland (DVD, 2004, The Masterpiece Edition)

I purchased this DVD as a Christmas gift for my 20 year old daughter. Alice In Wonderland is her favorite Disney Classic, and she has owned the VHS version since she was a little girl.

There are two things that set this version of Alice apart from the version she grew up with. First, the film has been beautifully restored. The colors in the animation are clear and vivid, and the sound quality is truly superb, especially considering the age of the original soundtrack. Secondly, the Disney movie you know and love is only a part of this package. It takes up only a portion of the first DVD. There are so many very interesting add on features which make this two DVD set worth buying even if you already own another version of Disney's Alice in Wonderland.

The interactive tea party was not our cup of tea and would probably be appealing only to very young children. The care put in to this segment did not match the rest of the production in any way, and that disappointed us. There is so much more though, to recommend this set. There are several features that would appeal to adults every bit as much, if not more, than to children.

The whole second DVD is full to the brim with material about the making of Alice, between 1947 and 1951, and the introduction of Disney's Alice In Wonderland to the public...All sorts of interesting and entertaining background information and performances both live and animated, including songs that did not make it into the final movie version along with the reasons why. My husband put the DVD in the player just to test it before wrapping it up for Christmas, and we sat transfixed, exploring through these bonus features for over two hours, still not having seen everything there is to see and hear. The end result is that we have decided to gradually build up a collection of any of these masterpiece versions of Disney Classics that we can find at a good price, for ourselves to enjoy.

It is nice to see a film for children that I am not afraid to leave the room during. This is a clean wholesome film with wonderful animation. The characters are vibrant and exciting and the children adore them. We also have great discussions about the characters and their personalities and the problems they face and how they solved them. Children always learn better with a discussion after the film!

By the time Disney produced "Alice", his studio had produced an entire repertoire of animated films from "Bambi", "Dumbo", "Snow White", "Cinderella", etc.

"Alice In Wonderland" is a film that I remember so very much from my childhood, because it so solidly brought to life the book I had been given, much earlier.
I still remember the tunes, the drama and the exquisite beauty of the production.
The casting [of the voice overs] is suberb. Indeed, it seems that the graphic artists of Disney began to take into their artistic representations some of the physical properties of those who were actually cast to "play the [voice] parts".

A few years ago, I rented the DVD for my grandchildren. They enjoyed it so that I bought it this year for them for Christmas.

There are few childrens' books that have been so beautifully and graphically brought to the screen in animation, that are true to the story, and yet so inventive to the eye and mind.

This is on my 100 Best Movies for All Time for Children and Families.

This is a wonderfully well done childrens classic, HOWEVER, due to the intentional adult content that was added by it's author Lewis Carol I would sugest not showing it to very young children. The disney version of this movie witch we're talking about cuts out much of the contriversial content and makes what would otherwise be an LSD tripout into a plausible, fun loving childrens musical... This movie is great fun to watch.

Really enjoyed the movie. I heard it had a political meaning behind it and after watching it again as an adult it made me realize how much more there was to it then a bunch of nonsense.

What is not to like?

This Classic Movie, Alice in Wonderland, is made better by bringing it to DVD, so you don't have to worry about your young one "wearing out" the movie.

This is a one of a kind disney classic movie. I can watch this movie over and over again and never get bored. ALL time disney classic!!!!!!!!!!

My 4-year-old daughter loves this movie. It's also a lot tamer then some of Disney's other movies. The animation is fantastic. My 2-year-old son doesn't get scared of it like some of the other ones, so we can watch it together. It's not one of my favorite movies, but I do appreciate the lessons on manners. Some movies make my daughter act out negatively afterwords, but this one seems to have a positive effect on her. I would definitely recommend it.

Wow this is a must have DVD for any Disney's Alice in Wonderland lover. Got it for grandkids and they love it specially the virtual wonderland party. This DVD is even better than the original. I recomend 100%.

Many Disney movies are scarry for a three year old. I'm happy to say that Alice in Wonderland is not. My daughter loves this movie.

A really good movie, really recommend to have as a collection, or simply, to enjoy, either way, CAN YOU STAND OR UR HEAD - Cheschie Cat.

This product came very quickly. We were very happy to be able to let our daughter watch it right away. The only problem that we had was that it did not work in one of our dvd players. Overall, we were pleased with the product and the fast shipping.

When Disney combined Through the Looking Glass and Alice in Wonderland in his masterpiece, the result was stunning. Hilarious, and darkly cynical, this is sure to be fun for the whole family.

I love Disney's Alice in Wonderland and its one of the best from the classic collection. Any Disney collector should have this movie in their collection.

I purchased this as it is my middle daughter's favorite Disney movie. She has many Alice T-shirts. She baby sits for a few small children and they see her shirts and asked about the movie. She wanted to get it for one of the girls for her birthday. The movie was in great condition, shipped quickly and enjoyed.

A wonderful movie to add to every family collection. Children love the colors and bright humor of Alice in Wonderland. Adults find it full of nonsense but humorous all the same. I reccomend this movie for every family.

I love Disney Movies and all things Disney. Alice in Wonderland is a Classic. I enjoyed this movie as a kid and will continue to enjoy it as long as I'm alive. There's nothing better then a tough week at work and popping in a Walt Disney Classic! It takes you to a special place where you forget your worries and escape into antoher time and place.
