The best unplugged album I had come across!

Generally I am not a big fan of unplugged and / or live albums - I like to hear the version of the song that I have grown to love without talk, clapping or other background noise. I also often find that sadly, the live version, just does not compare with the studio track!
Enter Alice In Chains Unplugged. This version of some of the best loved and biggest hits this Grunge band released, is simply outstanding and adds something to the tracks that the studio version lacks!
13 tracks are featured on the album - a 1996 release, adn the album did well in a time when grunge was pretty much on its last legs - a testimony to just how good this is!
I have so many favorites from this work - Down In a Hole has always been a song I have loved, and this version, with the delicate guitar sound and Layne Staleys almost tortured vocals is simply out of this world, Rooster is powerful and rocks as much on the unplugged version as it does on the studio album!! Would though a little weak, still works on this album, but I feel Staley struggles a little on the vocals. No excuses highlights the guitar work of Cantrell with its catchy rifts and Got me Wrong is simply outstanding!
I personally feel this is the best unplugged album of this era!
