Alex Rider: Operation Stormbreaker (DVD, 2006, Widescreen)

Terrific movie that almost no one has seen! Great music (Gorillaz and others), MTV style editing takes this young adult book and makes a very entertaining and well produced movie. Villains (and most adults for that matter) come off as cartoonish adding to the quick cut action fantasy feel. Ewen MacGregor is only seen briefly but Mickey Rourke, Alicia Silverstone, and the rest of the cast are superb! Can't believe this closed after only showing in 30 cities in the US. Use this in my reading classes to support reading the Alex Rider series and the kids love it!!!

The movie Stormbreaker is an action packed thriller. I got this because i read the book and thought it was great.

Good action adventure film for the family. Excellent message and spy type movie. Movie's theme has been replicated countless times thus it loses 1 rating, but overall it was a good show.

My son reads the books and was very excited to it on screen. He is waiting to see more as a series as he does the actual books.

My son has read the books and really liked the movie. He hopes to get the other movies also. Great kids movie and for the whole family.

This moving is fast paced from the beginning to the end. Very good action film for families with children 9 yrs old & up. About a young teen unknowingly being trained to be a spy. He turns out to be a very good one!

ACCORDING TO MY SON HE LIKED THE ACTION, GADGETS, AND OF COURSE ALEX. THE MOVIE IS ABOUT A TEENAGE BOY WHO;S UNCLE WAS A SPY AND DIED WHILE ON A CASE. ALEX SOON REALIZE THAT HIS UNCLE WAS TRAINING HIM TO ONE DAY BECOME A SPY. HE TAKES HIS FIRST CASE AND THATS WHERE THE ACTION BEGINS. MY SON WATCHES THIS MOVIES ABOUT TWO TIMES A DAY... SO BUY THIS FILM YOUR KIDS WILL LOVE IT

Product arrived in excellent condition. Seller did provide good detail regarding the product. The only down side to this order was the delivery. Shipping product took too long (over one week).

Wow, this could have been James Bond 001, before he became 007! I never heard of this movie ( studio obviously targeted wrong audiance)great action, neat story. Would like to see a sequel, did they make one?

My kids liked the action in the movie. We bought the movie because they loved the Alex Rider book series. Movies are never as good as the books and this was no exception. But overall it was still a pretty good movie for kids.

My son and daughter love this movie. My son really wanted this movie and it was a hard one to find. Great kid-friendly movie.

While this movie and the series of books may seem to be marketed for a younger audience, I would suggest teenagers or older would be okay to watch and read the series of books. The graphic violence and storyline of the books and this movie are not appropriate for a young viewing audience. Parents this is one to definately preview first before giving to your younger child.
Not widely known in the states but a big hit across the pond. All of the books are amazing and well-written so pleasantly surprised when transferred this story to the big screen.
To describe this movie an adult must take a step back and place themselves into the minds of a young man who is on his own, has incredible talents, is very strong in his own worth and personality, and is a marketable commodity to the whole world--especially that of espionage. What young person today does not want to see themselves or at least dream of someone their own age being able to solve the problems of the world?
This movie gives a teenager the visual realities and yet fantasy of being able to save the world at a young age while being in places and situations that cannot be real but are never-the-less entertaining for someone so young.
When you continue to read the rest of the books in this series, you will be struck at how well the author continues on with the fantasy and reality blend of this young man and how it is that these books are so incredibly popular.
This is definately a series of books any parent would feel comfortable adding to their teenager's library. The storylines in each one are just enough reality to really 'get into them' and yet enough fantasy for anyone to grasp the concepts written throughout.
As you can probably guess, I am a huge fan of these books and have given numerous copies to kids for birthdays, Christmas gifts, and even a series to a young man for a high school graduation gift.
