Alan Hurwitz - Professor Louie's Rock & Blues Accordion: Beginner's Course (DVD, 2007)

I love the fact that you can buy a DVD and not have to take lessons to learn how to play an instrument. Hurwitz starts with the basics of how to find a functioning accordion and then jumps right into the meat of how to hold the instrument. From there you cover keys, buttons and technique for both. Then you get to playing licks. I like the fact that you're not spending weeks holding and getting comfortable with the instrument. In today's short attention span society, we all want instant results. I felt like I could have gigged that night.
