If you were impacted by Monster, then watch this!
If you were deeply impacted by the intensity of the film Monster with Charlize Theron and Christina Ricci, then you must view this excellent documentary about the real "Monster," Aileen Wuornos, convicted for multiple killings and executed in 2002.
Whether you think Aileen was sane or insane, a truth-teller or liar, a sociopath or a poor girl-gone-bad, you will touched by the story of her childhood, full of abuse and neglect, and you will be chilled by the interviews that British director Nick Broomfield filmed with Aileen. Broomfield crafts the entire film to remain as raw and unflinching in its view as Aileen herself is in the interviews.
As a college professor, I recommend this well-edited, thought-provoking film to anyone in the criminal justice or psychology fields and especially to those who are instructors or students of CJ or psychology.
