This is the first album I had heard from them and loved it. It is the perfect music to listen too on your way home after a day out surfing!

I only recently became a fan of KoL and I first bought the latest album, Only for the Night. I then bought the older albums which had a distinctly different sound. This album, I feel, blends their old sound with their new sound. It was a transitional album for sure. Great stuff from start to finish. Highly recommended.

Super Sophomore EffortA laudable followup to 2003's Youth and Young Manhood. While Aha Shake Heartbreak lacks some of Y&YMH's trademark gritty garage noise, it is a promising change of course. KOL are at the top of their game with this nugget of an album and continue to display their importance to rock music. Highlights include Taper Jean Girl, Soft, Pistol of Fire, and the balls-to-the-wall rocker Four Kicks. Grab a cold one (or six), turn the volume up, and rock out courtesy of one America's best live acts.

ASH is the future of where rock is goingExcellent rock reminding me of the Allman Brothers with more song writing ability. Not overly produced adding to its charm. The lead singer has got a great voice for what they are doing.

) yes, i love this album. not at first. as my friend played it for me, i thought he had gone crazy. i really didnt get into it till a month later. it grew on me, hard to understand what he is singing. but after awhile you'll learn all the words

Followill boys rock it again...Aha Shake Heartbreak is a solid follow up to their debut from 2003 Youth & Young Manhood. The Followill family basically rock out, but throw in a few mellow tunes, too, on this 2005 release. I recently had the chance to see Kings of Leon live for the first time opening a show for Dylan and I was very impressed with their 45 minute set that featured tunes from both of their CDs.
