Agnes Browne is one of my favorite films. I decided to buy this after I read the series of novels by Brendan O'Carroll. The Young Wan, The Mammy, The Granny and Agnes Browne.I could not put the books down. When I found out it was on film, I had to see it. And I loved it!
Angelica Huston plays the part of Agnes. If you love Irish Humor, you have to see this film. (0r if you are a fan of Tom Jones)
Agnes and her friend Marion are hilarious!
It's all about Agnes and the hardships of raising 7 children on her own in a 1960 working-class Dublin neighborhood. And her wonderful friendship with her best friend Marion.
I love giving this film as a gift to my friends.
And I can't tell you how many times I've watched it.
In my opinion, Agnes Browne is a "must see".
You will laugh and cry when you watch it. I still do, no matter how many times I watch it.
Great Irish comedy.

I bought this movie as a gift for my Mom. She was born in Ireland and raised in England. She had seen this movie on the television and was just crazy about it. It reminded her of when she was growing up.
I thought this movie was brilliant! It makes you laugh and it makes you cry.It is an all around feel good movie. Some of the language is a bit strong. However if your not used to the language and accents you may miss it. I really don't want to give away the plot of the story. So I'll just say this, it's about a woman who husband dies, She falls upon hard times, and has to raise her children without any money. Because she has to pay off a loan shark... you have to watch the movie yourself to see what happens.
