The first time I played age of empires, I thought it was a nerds game. But once I got into it......I couln't get off of my computer. I used to spend up to 14 hours a day (and part of the night) playing this game. And I only downloaded the trial version!!! I can't wait to make my own maps and campigns in the real game. I tell my freinds that once you start playing, you won't want to get off. I only had enough time to sleep enough to were I woulden't catch something like that one freaky disease you can catch from lack of sleep. And I even ate at my computer so I could play. My mom got mad at me because the only time I got off was to sleep, crap, and that's about it. This is a game you won't want to get away from. My schooling even lost my intrest when I started to play this game. I would recomend it to anyone who has a lot of time on their hads.

In my humble opinion this is the best game that is historically correct.
It takes you on a journey from Feudal Age to Imperial Age.
The graphics are great and none like any other simulation game I have played in the past.
There are lots to do in the game.
Little villagers that hunt and fish. They build and farm.
You have your warriors that are mean in battle. Horse men, elephant and camel warriors.
Why I say it's historically correct is that it goes into detail about the many ages. The times in those days were feudal. And like others it does have it's cheats.
Also in the beginning it has tutorials about certain people such as Genghis Khan and Joan of Arc.
I highly reccommend this game to sim lovers.
Be warned though it is very addicting and sometimes nerve racking.

Age of Empires is the most successful strategy game series ever! This game is still played in multiplayer groups online. There are HUNDREDS of custom scenarios out there for gamers to try out.

Tha Age of Empires(or AOE)original was amazing. However Age of Empires II is even better. It improves on the old but continues to keep what you loved in the first Age of Empires. This game also uses real people and their real stories. People such as King Barbarossa, Joan of Arc, and Ghengis Khan. Everything is historically accurate. Believe it or not my younger brother learned an incredible amount of history from this game. But how historically accurate a game is doesn't make it fun. What does make it fun is the basically unlimited gameplay. Besides finishing all the campaighns(this could take you a long time)you can play against AI opponents in literally millions of ways. And if in some way you still manage to get board you can take on people in the real world via the internet.

Even this game is a war game the gore is extremly limited. It is kept to a bare minimum. This game is definitely worth buying and deserves a 5/5 without a doubt.

I'm a big fan of the AoE series, but AoE II isn't quite what it could have been. Granted, it is an improvement versus the original AoE, however very few changes were made. Graphics and audio aren't very different from the original, and gameplay is very similar. All in all, it's still a great game, and I thoroughly enjoyed it.

It was a long time ago when i got addicted to this game back home. It started from a simple demo game of the age of empires in a computer magazine's downloads. I thought cutting trees and killing ruthlessly was fun; later I discovered that I can be the emperor of the world by sleekly designing my cunning strategy to kill my enemies and confiscate their people and property. The multiplayer option of this game is the best thing ever in the PC gaming world. I pay my tribute to the creators of this marvel. I'm Macedonian. See you in the next age.

We had owned this game before but some how miss placed the disc. Since my son played it regularly I did not mind buying it again. It was in excellent contitons no scratches it worked perfectly and had all necessary instructions.

My only wish is that someone could explain to us how to go online and play on line with other people. For some reason the instructions are not clear on how to do that.

Sincerely

Age Of Empires 2 is a masterpiece. The sequel to Age Of Empires keeps everything that made the first one great, throws away almost everything that made it bad, and throws an amazing, revamped user interface that gives the player god-like power if used expertly. The different civilizations are fantastic. The advantages and disadvantages of each one make the game interesting and balanced, although some civilizations are better (overall) than others. I mean, really, who doesn't love (and equally hate) the Longbowmen? The War Elephants? The Woad Raiders? The Throwing Axeman? The units are the best part of the game. Except for the paladin and scorpion wipeout trick, the unit balance is superb. The naval battles are amazing, with fireships, ballista ships, and even ships that launch cannonballs. There are more buildings, tons more upgrades, and a brand-new unit I like to call the x-factor: the trebuchet. This is one of the units that makes AOE 2 a true delight. As built up as a city can become, it can be destroyed in minutes with enough trebuchets. The multiplayer aspect of this game is what solidifies AOE 2's standing as one of the best games ever made. It is surreal. I've had 12-hour multiplayer sessions many times. You just don't want to stop. It's so fun!!! It's madness! As far as challenge goes, you'll get all you want. Just try beating the entire game on the hardest difficulty and see the headache you get. And if you get through with that, buy the expansion pack and eat your heart out. Buy this game! Play it until you're sick of it! That probably won't happen, but even if it does, when you come back from your break you'll be twice as hooked.

  Awesome

On my opinion the game is awesome. The graphics ,the sounds ,the campaigns everything.

The object of the game is to destroy your opponent with your soldiers. And to do that you have to gather food, wood, gold, stone. And with the material you can build your city.

First of all the game has a really good tutorial. Even if you had no idea how to play it teaches in a really easy way everything. From how to move your guys to attacking, well everything.

Then graphics are good you can see all guys , their armor, ships, buildings it is just great.

One of the best parts i like is playing multiplayer, you can't describe how much fun it is.

Just buy this game!!!

I really enjoy playing this game...almost too much. I admit I have wasted at times too much time playing this one, I am drawn the medieval feel you get playing this (I love the renaissance era). I have never been one for war games but am strongly drawn to this one and love the challenge each time I play. I love the graphics but don't like having to tell my villagers to farm again (which is what the expansion is good for). A fun and addicting game you can play long or short over and over again.

Ahe of Empires II: The Age of Kings (PC Games)
Review created: 08/31/09

While not all of the PC games were my cup of tea, there were so many that I was very pleased with this transaction and vendor! The CD's were well cared for and all played. The ones I didn't keep for myself, my son and grandsons fought for! You would have thought it was Christmas!

More all nighters than I care to admit....
Review created: 07/01/09
by:

I think of this game as the ultimate toy soldier set that you dreamed of as a kid- only the toys are alive and intelligent. I've literally spent hundreds of hours playing this game , including more all nighters than I care to admit. If you are a military buff this game can become addictive. You can build whole empires here- either from scratch from the stone age, or with fully developed high middle ages technology (which includes gunpowder weapontry.) You have to build up the infrastructure for your empire including farms, fisheries, mines, and timber. Then you have to build workshops and training schools. Only then can you concentrate on the right mix of cavalry, infantry, archers, and artillery. Just the complexity of the castles and walled towns you can build is fascinating. Yet it is never tedious, you really get a feeling that you are actually building up an empire- your empire for your subjects. And every single individual unit is fully and believably animated. A major advantage of Age of Kings over the earlier Age of Empires is that you can order your fighting units into set formations like squares and lines, instead of just sending a mob into battle. The interface here is unbelievable- the "giant" map actually has the feel of a huge extent of territory- enough for a kingdom or an empire. I prefer this as a single player game- the program is smart and relentless enough to keep you constantly on your toes. Just try playing against 7 to 1 odds with no allies if you don't believe me....

A wonderful game. I'm Dad to 5 children, ranging in age from 8-16; and they are all captivated by this game! It's hard to get online with my crowd in the queue (and this is my only Windows setup in the house!)The game is very thought provoking and is non-violent (no graphic violence).
The purchase was excellent w/ "ultimate_resale"; As new, in the box, shrink-wrapped and manual included for a great low price! AA++. Thank you...all.--rds

I bought the NewPhone 74205 three weeks ago and was immediately impressed with the number of features available on this inexpensive phone. It has a 1M-pixel camera, video camera, and speakerphone. The NewPhone's size is perfect for carrying in a pocket and the battery has a pretty good lifespan of roughly 4 hours. My only complaint is that the menu system on the phone makes you click four times before you can find someone in the address book, set an alarm, or perform a additional functions. Other phones I've owned have simpler menus and get you to important features easily. Overall, I'd recommend the phone if you're on a budget.
