After Burner (32X, 1994)

If your looking for an outstanding arcade conversion of After Burner or just good fun and some flash 2d graphics, then this game is for you. Its one of the few 2D sprite based games that takes great advantage of the 32X's twin hitachi chips, tons of jets, foliage, building and missile sprites fly by at a frantic pace all with crisp, clear animation.

This game is fast(very fast)but easy to pick up and play. However to get really good at it and go far is another story, which gives it depth in terms of gameplay, although its always good for just a quik super sonic blast as well. I have not noticed a framerate drop once and it remains smooth through out.

I feel Sega really tried to show off the machines power with After Burner. This is a classic and powerful 2D game to show any game fan old or new. Simply this is a cool retro piece.
