I love this cookbook,I bought this copy because I misplaced my old one. I have favorite recipes in this book that I love , The Doro Wat, and Injeera, especially. If you have never tried African cooking, this book is wonderful, and if you have tried African cooking, well, this book is still wonderful. Easy to follow recipes, and interesting tastes.

The author does a splendid job of making everything easy to understand, defining ingredients and, when needed, suggesting substitutions that a non-African can obtain. Contents are honestly pan-African, including Arab-influenced dishes from the north, India-influenced curries and Dutch-style grills from the south, and all of the diversity in between. Who would have know that this old Kentucky boy would be looking forward to pumpkins being for sale every fall so he could cook up some good coconut pumpkin? If you don't like the first recipe you try here, go to a different region and try some more--there's something here for every taste bud.
