I bought this book for a class, and thought that the authors had a lot of generalizing to do about the actions of Americans that was negative. The arguments were not really profound, nor accurate, in my opinion. This book is based on a PBS special --that is like a CNN "report" all hype and no substance.

This is a book every American should read. It is about the rampant consumerism in our society and who is manipulating the situation. Many Americans believe that they cannot afford to be happy, this is a falacy and Affluenza debunks that myth.

) i read this book when it was first published and found it to be very profound. looking at where we are now, how could we have not seen this coming. only a people without a vision & a need for greed wouldn't have seen this coming. i purchased & gave away 5 copies after i read it & now i am buying another one for friends as christmas presents. wake up AMERICA & let us return to our first LOVE & abide by HIS commands. then all will be returned to decency & order.
I read this book when was younger and found it extremely profound. Taking the present position of society it is clear we should have seen this coming. I purchased a copy and after reading it I immediately purchased 5 more copies and distributed them among my friends to read. Now I plan to purchase more copies to distribute to more of my friends for Christmas. It is truly time to wake up America, and return to a level of decency and order in which we were created to do.
