An Affair to Remember (DVD, 2003, Studio Classics)

I enjoyed this remake of Love Affair, it is a beautiful love story of two people that meet on cruise, and fall in love with each other, even they are engaged with other people. They decide to meet again at the empire state building, but an horrible accident stop this reunion. this story has all the elements of the wonders you feel when you first fall in love with someone. I personally liked the original LOVE AFFAIR than I did the remake, but both films capture the essence of deciding in your heart to go after that person you love....

I love this movie for its humor and story line.It's really quite "saucy" for the time in which it was produced" Great writing and acting. I had always wanted to see it because so many other movies refer to it.

Great old movie that I have see many times. Love the actors and plot. It is a romantic mushy movie but I love happy endings and Debra Kerr is just beautiful.

An Affair To Remember is a must see classic - everyone that is a fan of romantic movies made before 1970 should add this to their collection. Cary Grant and Deborah Kerr portray characters that are so real you almost tend to escape in the movie once you put it on. Be prepared: Kerr does tend to break out and sing a song or 2, and at moments your inner realist may roll your eyes at least once during the movie, but the storyline is definitely worth enduring the few negative points. Cary Grant truly is a man's man in this movie showing a deep emotional side as well as the stereotypical male attitude and behavior for that particular time period. I would buy this movie again and not think twice about it, a rarity even in its time.

What a fabulous movie. I've seen it several times now. I did not see the original Love Affair only the remake with Benning and Beatty, which was not even close to coming to the quality of this film. I see the above review mentions the original, I will have to check it out. It is hard to believe any film that is the same story line as this could even compare. The actors in this film are simply the best.

Definitely a MUST SEE for classic movie lovers, this is a charming, well made and casted story that is perfect to watch with that someone special.
Grant is legendary as the wealthy and worldly Nick Ferrante.
Kerr is unforgetable as the reluctant object of his affection.
Haunting theme song that will stay in your head for days.

I was looking for this specific movie to replace one I lost.The seller made it easy to find by his description. I reviewed his cridentials as well as shipping price and location. Based on the information he had provided there was no doubt I should buy from him.

I love this movie. It is one of my favorites. I love old classic movies from the nineteen fourties to the sixties. The only thing I didn't like about my purchase is the movie isn't in widescreen. All those old movies are widescreen. So why do they sell them any other way? I notice most of the auctions for these old movies are not in widescreen or they don't tell you what format the movie is in. So, then you have to email to find out. Takes to much time. When I want to buy I don't want to have to email and email and email. It appears that most don't know what format means. They put dvd for the format or other things. Very annoying. Thanks!

I love this movie. I have given several as gifts. Couldn't believe that the first time I gave this movie for a gift - she had never heard of it. Now my friend has bought one for her sister. This movie is an all time classic. Beware you'll need a box of tissue to watch this movie.

this is one of my favorite classic movie but if youyr not into classic go watch the modern version of this movie.. :)

Great classic love story. They don't make movies like this anymore! Love it! The actors are two classic greats and they put their all into this movie.

This movie is a classic! The acting is strong and the emotions can truly be felt. It's a love story that stretches its main characters to the extreme as they search their souls to see what they would do for love. Very touching.

The most lovely, wonderful, enchanting film ever......No dirty words no cheal crap, just a story to take to your heart regardless of age....I like the new color version.....How could it ever be made better ? ? ?

OMG this movie was one of the best movies I've ever seen. I love "love stories". I am so happy that I found this one. I decided to buy it because it was going for a great price. I will be buying more love stories soon.

This is the classic of all romance movies. Even from it's time it has brought the chivalry back into its current time and carries it into the 'now'!!! LOVE IT!!!!

I have never seen the original LOVE AFFAIR made prior to this version of the story with Cary Grant and Deborah Kerr, but I have seen the one later one with Warren Beatty. This one always catches my heart in a way the Beatty version does not. I think it is the classic styling of the movie and the era that makes it so romantic. The characters are real enough for the film’s time, but like a character in a romantic book, there is room for your own imagination to fill in a bit here and there. Cary Grant and Deborah Kerr are sophisticated and elegant and struggling to be more than they have been when fate steps in. All the elements that first bring them together then separate them and finally allow them to find each other again are timeless. This is the movie other movies refer to when talking about romance. Bring lots of tissues, because you’re going to need them!!!
