Drawn from a play, but not drawn far enough.
Advice From A Caterpillar was drawn from a wonderful stage play, but was not drawn far enough; limits on seeing the characters were set for what an audience in their seats could see at a play, the extreme close ups used to show emotion, vacillation, the rise and embodiment of whatever it is that defines a character-- the few facets a movie has that a stage play does not-- they were missing.
Not bad, but it could have dove deeper into the characters, and did not.
