Publisher's Note "The Adventures of Wiki & the Rock People" is a children's adventure story written in rhymed verse & fabulously illustrated by a veteran Hallmark artist. This is the first in what will be a series of Wiki Adventures. The stories are written for both adult & child to enjoy & offer fun-filled shared reading experiences while imparting a few simple lessons. The lessons in this adventure are "If you want to succeed, you must be willing to try" & "Sometimes you just have to listen. That's word to the wise." Carrying these themes are Wiki (pronounced Wick-ee), his comical, faithful dog & a cast of wacky characters like the flying snicket (a combination of a snail & cricket), Kooka-Walla, the wise talking tree, & a big fuzzy character called a Yarp, to name a few. These characters help Wiki solve the troubles in Sleepville, where the Rocks have stopped talking. He uses his brain & not brawn to discover the solution & to bring the story to a happy conclusion. Adults will love the wording as much as younger children will love poring over the colorful illustrations. For kids of ALL ages--including grandparents.
