The Adventures of Priscilla, Queen of the Desert (DVD, 2000)

I bought this DVD because i remember watching it as a kid and had bean trying to find it no i have it on DVD and i must say it's as good as it was then you must watch this film its an Australian film about three drag preformers braving the vast rugged outback it won the 1994 Academy Award for costume Design. this is a spectacular film you must watch this film. well what more can i say but watch it

We had it on VHS...DVD much better, and never wears out. Movie is basically an Australian take on the hit American comedy, To Wong Foo, Thanks for Evereything, Julie Newmar, which stars Patrick Swayze, Wesley Snipes, and John Leguizamo. Pricilla is actually the name of the 2nd hand bus, the three drag queens drive across the Australian Out Back, to a gig at a hotel/casino.
I ahve loved this film and T W F T F E J N, ever since I saw them in the theater. Anyone with an off-beat sense of humor, as well as any gay people, will thoroughly enjoy Pricilla.

I really do love this movie. Its funny and serious at the same time. First of all, you get to see Australia, which has always been a dream vacation for me. Next you get some very funny characters that all seem pretty well developed as far as movies go on average. You don't get bored, it's not too long and the pace keeps moving. The costumes for the drag acts are so over the top they make the whole thing worthwhile. Then of course there is the soundtrack which has some great hits, campy and not so campy. There is of course a message of love and acceptance but its not hitting you over the head like in so many American films.

GREAT MOVIE- Very entertaining and kept my interest all the way through. The actors were very convincing - The plot is believable.

I will watch this one many times in the future.

This is still by far the best of all the cross=dressing films that came out. The acting is superb and the story is funny and touching. There is real heart to this film and the three stars bring it off with very subtle and nuanced acting. Cudos to all involved. With a special shout out to the costume designers, who won the academy award. Bravo!

This is one of those movies that has so many jokes, moments and quick scenes you have to watch it over and over again.

This is a fun movie, lot's of great costumes, great plot, lots of laughs and classic songs.

One of the best drag movies ever! Sends a message without being preachy, and makes you laugh out loud.

Watch to find out if they make it to their destination for their glamourous performance in Alice Springs. The costumes are amazing, having won a Oscar for Best Costumes. Vendor reported E Bay had not updated the item as already purchased in time and thus it was not available. It seems this should have been caught by the vendor before they charged my account and thus had to issue a refund. In addition, by not having the item available, I missed out on offers from other vendors that are now gone and now will have to pay a higher price for the item due to the time delay. Refund was completed without difficulty and promptly, and as this was a multiple purchase, the vendor did complete the other item of the sell promptly and gave me the reduced shipping for multiple purchases, but disappointment in this purchase still exist. Blame for this mix-up may not be with the vendor and thus I cannot give neither negative nor positive feedback. This is a different kind of movie and the type of movie you want to see made. It explores different LGBT topics and should definitely be on everyone`s `To Watch` list.

LOVED THIS MOVIE!!!!! If I'm feeling down I put this movie on and cheers me right up. It has everything humour, drama, great acting and brilliant old 70's mix music. Highly recommend it.

The Adventures of Priscilla Queen of the Desert is really a terrific movie, great story, great music. Wanted to own it.

Looking for something not so every day, this is very entertaining, very funny,nothing everyday and ho-hum about it

I already owned this movie on VHS, but when I found it on EBay at such a great price, I had to upgrade to DVD. This movie has kept me laughing every since the first time I watched it. I enjoyed the movie "Too Wong Foo....." as well (even using quotes from the movie), but I found the acting, costumes, and scenery much more enjoyable in Priscilla. Australia is such a pretty backdrop in this movie. The costumes are both unbelievable and outrageous at the same time; I especially liked the scene where they are driving through the desert with the huge high heel strapped to the top of the bus. The scenes with the bus mechanic and his wife are also hilarious. The storyline is believable and the little side-steps throughout make for an interesting movie. The actors also seem to be enjoying themselves, having put 100% into their roles.

This is one of my all-time favorite movies!! It is hilarious and great fun to watch! I love the costuming, make-up and music! I even own the soundtrack! Totally recommend for someone who has a need to laugh!

I bought 3 copies of this movie for Christmas gifts for 2 of my friends, and one for me! It is a delightful movie and I will watch it often.

Have always enjoyed watching this movie and will continue to watch it now. Wearing a dress can get complicated!
