AS a native Missourian, I have a special affection for Mark Twain, but I doubt that's the reason for my love of this great American novel. Huck Finn is a classic tale of rural America, and the writing is superb and interesting. Twain was a master of language. And while I enjoy his Puddinhead Wilson even better than this book, I understand Huck Finn's importance in American history. It's a book that accurately depicts the sentiment of the times--and shows differences in the lives of whites and blacks through the relationship of Huck and Jim. The scenes with the King and the Duke are gut-busting funny, and the satire Twain is so famous for oozes from the pages. Once you get into it, you won't be able to put it down. Huck Finn is miles from its predecessor, Tom Sawyer--which is a great book, but without such a sharp tongue. Read this if you haven't. You won't be disappointed!

I bought this book for my English class, because I had to read it. It is a really good book and the addendum in the back is really helpful and interesting.
