Brisco County is sort of an updated Wild, Wild West with lots of humor, interesting characters, and fun gadgets galore! It also has a lot of fun little puns and tributes (like a British spy named "Emma Steed" as a nod to another of my favorites, The Avengers!), and is genuinely fun to watch.
Bruce Campbell is excellent as the star of the show too - you can tell he had a great time making it. Unlike his later "Jack of All Trades", Brisco is not played just for laughs and is first and foremost an adventure story...just with a lot of quirky humor thrown in as well. It also has an interesting sci-fi element that definitely adds a twist.
My only complaint with the DVD set is there is only 1 episode commentary (though it's a good one on the first episode by Bruce Campbell). A separate disc of bonus materials makes up for it though with a lot of great behind the scenes info with the stars. The writers room is also a lot of fun to watch. I'll bet a blooper reel would have been hilarious though sadly isn't included.
One thing nice about this set is, although the final 2 part episode wasn't designed to be a series finale, it serves pretty well as one giving a bit of a feeling of a complete series, rather than one just ended too soon (though it definitely did!).
If you like Westerns or Bruce Campbell, definitely pick this one up!
