Advanced Dui Investigation by Daniel J. Haggin (2005, Paperback, Spiral)

This book is a must have for any officer that has completed SFST training. The book not only covers what you have already learned, but also provides a general exposure to the area of drug impairment. The book goes into detail about the physiology of the human body and how the various drugs affect the different systems. As a reference manual the book goes into detail the various formulas used to determine dissipation rates of ETOH in addition to extrapolation. Beyond all of the excellent reference resources, the book also provides a guide for documenting an incident and court testimony. The only drawback is the case law references provided are a little out of date, which can be expected with any book since case law is always changing. Overall the book is an excellent resource for any DUI officer and a great resource for anyone planning on attending the DEC program.
