Adams Idea A2 Iron set Golf Club

The Idea A2 Idea iron set (not the OS) was my first choice of irons, through all the price ranges. Golf Digest has ranked Adams "Gold" and Best Value more than once. Adams practically invented the hybrid club, and has translated the technology to its mid- and short-irons.
First of all, the 3 and 4 hybrids are phenomenal. Out of the fairway, off the tee, or from the rough, you will NEVER hit a long iron like these. Honestly, I never use my 5 wood anymore. Why bother, when the 3 hybrid has the same distance, but is much more user friendly? If you struggle with achieving loft with the long irons (who doesn't?), look no further. I can't say enough good things about these clubs.
The mid irons are also very hit-able. These are not blades, nor are they meant to be, although shaping shots is achievable. If you have a semi-solid swing and foundation, the clubs will do the rest. I used to be afraid of hitting a long 5 iron, or trying a low draw with my 6 iron around an obstacle, but both are my favorite mid-approach shots now.
The short irons are also very good. I would prefer a bit less bounce (PW especially), but the low MOI on the clubs allow for a steeper swing and better loft. Distance manipulation can be trickier though, because of such a large and soft impact area. But if you are using these clubs, that shouldn't be an issue anyway.
Other clubs that I looked at were the Ping G2's, and the Callaway X-18's. Both clubs are good, but for me (who shoots in the low 90's), the Adams A2 Idea set was a much better buy, not only in terms of value, but for usable performance.
I wouldn't hesitate to recommend these irons for anyone who is a bogey golfer, or even a lower handicap, as the hittability of these irons is superb. Higher handicap golfers, or seniors/ladies/younger players may be better served by the OS version of these clubs, which have 4 hybrids. Match these sets with 2 quality wedges, a 3 wood, and a driver, and you'll be happy ever after.

I gave up golf in my 30s because it was too expensive and time consuming. Now that I'm retired at age 68 I've taken the game up again. I replaced my 15 year old woods with new Cobra's and realized I had to change the irons as well. I tried a few other brands but for the money nothing could touch this Adams Idea A2 set of irons. In addition the 3 and 4 iron hybrids are sensational. I have a lot more confidence with the hybrids: less digging in and more weight in the center. My distance has increased from about 10-12 yards with the 9 and 20-25 with the 3 hybrid. About 110 yards with the 9 to 190 with the 3.
Unfortunately, accuracy and consistency belong to the the guy holding the clubs. I'm working on it.
I would highly recommend these clubs to anyone of any size, sex or age.
Bidding and buying for golf equipment on eBay was also another move on my part to enter the 21st Century. My Mac computer was the first. I lost my first bid but once I understood that eBay could bid for me up to a maximum I easily got the next three.

I love my Adams Idea A2 irons! I am a 12 handicap, and while they are easy to hit I am also able to work the ball a little. My set has the GW and SW, and the SW is easily the easiest to hit among the dozens I have owned over the years. The usual high level of quality of Adams products is present with these clubs.

Adams products have come a long way. As a bargain hunter you cant beat there golf clubs, especially an EBAY deal......

Very nice clubs; high quality; nice technology; great find on ebay. Although there have been a couple newer models since these clubs came out, I found these to be a serious upgrade from the 5 year old set I was using. Adams quality is unquestioned. The hybrids which were included mean I don't have two irons I no longer use. My game improved instantly.

I was playing before with a set of cleveland launchers and decided to get a new set. I picked the Adams idea A2 and boy was that he best descision. Every shot was dead on and on one hole i was able to put backspin on a 175 yard shot and land one foot from the hole. Now if i could just improve my putin

It's me not my clubs! They feel nice and when my swing is nice they hit nice. The standard deviation in my swing is way too big. I have a tendency to hook the hybrids so I still need some work on my swing.

The Adams clubs provides the biggest band for the buck... Equal to all major brands in every way. Buy and try you'll see what I mean.
