Act Like a Lady, Think Like a Man by Steve Harvey (2009, Hardcover)

When I saw Mr. Harvey speak about this book, I was immediately interested. It is all I hoped it would be...just wish it had been written YEARS ago!! Many misconceptions about both men and women are cleared up.
When reading it, you feel that Steve Harvey is speaking directly to you in his own inimitable way. I'd recommend it to every woman friend I have.

I am one of many women who grew up without a father in my life. I for years was clueless about men and how you knew if he was the right one. I met my husband and he started teaching me the ways of men. When I heard about Steve's book I had to read it to see if he had anything to add to what my husband had already told me. The book was identical to what my hubby had told me about men. Since reading Steve's book me & my husband get along better. I don't try to change him and I let him be the man. Sometimes we women are afraid to stand back and let a man be a man for fear that in some way he's going to let us down. Steve's book gives you the courage to demand from your man that he be just that; A man. Steve also states that women must have the morals & courage to demand nothing less for ourselfves and our men. A++++

I like the book so far! As I read, I can hear Steve Harvey's voice because the book is written just how he speaks! It's funny! Not all things may pertain to your relationship, but there's definitely something for everybody.

This book is great, my only regret is that Steve should have written the book when i was younger but still i am greatful because it is a very educated book.

I enjoyed the book. Steve Harvey acknowledge all major concerns women have toward men. Not only on a 'Black' perspective, but on all race of women. A must have book for ALL SINGLE WOMEN IN SEARCH FOR A GOOD MAN!

I really liked this book. I thought it was entertaining and yet an honest and insightful male perspective. What I took away from reading it is that I do have a really great boyfriend. We've been together for a little over a year and I can relate to him in a new context now with regard to his need to provide and protect. It also made me feel good to recongnize how he professes with respect to my title as his girlfriend.

Definitely worth a read. I think there is something for everyone, both men and women, to gain at an individual level from this book.

Great information, helps you look at things differently. It allows a lady to see how and why men act the way they do and why women never see it for what it really is.

I liked this book because it was from a man's point of view. Women nowadays are too willing to compromise what mama always taught us. We feel like we have to give up the values we were raised with because they're too demanding or old fashioned. Guess what? The guys were raised by the same mama's and know how to turn things around on us! We give in, they take off! They know the game plans, now we know the game plan too. This is a great book! It's informative, a quick, EZ read, and reaffirming. It's a very honest book. I will pass this book on to my daughter and my female friends. I'm glad I bought it!

This book was all that I expected and more. It was hilarious. Steve Harvey is so funny but truthful at the same time. As you read the book, it all makes sense- the way most men act can be explained by this book. I am looking forward to a sequel!!!!!!!!!

Steve Harvey may not be a relationship counselor, however he hit the nail right on the head. I have been married to a wonderful man for the last 24 1/2 years. Our communication is excellent and I have even read parts of the book to him. All he could do was laugh and say, yup that is how men are. Ladies, if you have not read this book, make it a priority to get it. Take your time reading it and hightlight those points that are of most importance to you. I would recommend this book to everyone.

Steve Harvey really shows you the story behind men. I thought I knew and some I did but he just makes it soooo clear how they really think. He also puts his comedy into some of it, real real real real real....all I can say~!!!!!!!!!

It was recommended by a friend. I'm a 46 year old single mom, and wow, I wish I had this book years ago. I guess we're more clueless than we think either that or just in denial about our men we date. However, I learned enough to realize my dating habits and make a positive change in my current relationship that was going no where.
I strongly recommend this book to all women! For your own personal growth and not only to help understand the men in our lives but also our very own behaviors. I say good job Steve Harvey in putting this out there because it is what it is and sometimes a tell it like it is, is what it takes for us to wake up and make a change.
I also work in a field predominated by men and I asked a lot of my male co-workers about some of the points made in this book and all men confirmed mainly what Steve here is saying about how men think and work. ALL OF THEM!

Ladies this is a must have book. Steve broke it down for you in this book things that every woman wants to know about her man. You won't be disappointed.
A Excellent book.

I never bought an ebook before. Easy , quick, but I still have a harder time reading it than an actual paper copy and don't want to spend the ink or paper on copying it. Really great for 99 cents. Book was fairly fun to read. Had seen it on Oprah and wanted to read it. Haven't read it all.

It was a quick and easy read! Good common sense information from a reputable source. He used humor, compassion and real examples to drive a point across. I sent it to my niece who is 25. I highly recommend this book.

I decided to buy this book after seeing Steve on the OPRAH show and he spoke for about 10 mins to both Oprah and Gail about this book.

I was intrigued!! I liked and was aware of Steve before this and thought the book would be very good.

I was not disappointed. This book had all the things in it my Grandmother taught me when it came to dealing with men plus some. Although I already knew many of these things it was awesome to hear it said by a man and put in his perspective.

Great buy. A must have for all girls and women, of dating age, that want to be respected and find happiness with the man of their choice.

The book hit on a wide variety of topics while being straight to the point. The book corrected many myths and very informational. Overall, the book was a great read and I can apply many of the concepts discussed to my life.

I found this book to be very informative, I purchased it and now I have passes it along to some of my co-workers who have heard nothing but good things about it.

The book was insightful, practical and assuring to single women who are committed to their principles and conviction even if they are not married. I grew up in a two parent household and had many responsible, successful God fearing adult black male figures around. Most of these gentlemen, as well as my father, taught my sister, I and their daughters what to expect from God fearing gentlemen.

I puchased the book after watching him on the Oprah show and I love what he shared in his book. It also very easy to read pages, funny, and full of great tips.

Ladies, if you want to understand your man, this is the book. It is funny, true and easy to read and under stand. He even gives examples to make sure you understand. The icing on the cake is he mentions God's word several times in the book. This was not only a good buy but a profitable buy.

Steve Harvey's comedic timing would serve well on this book being an audio book, however, the information in invaluable to help women both you and older to realize and value themselves. Tell a young woman or someone who doesn't believe they are worth it to get a copy, or better yet buy one and give it to them!

I got this for a gift for someone and it came in fast. She has already startedt to read the book and she loves it!
