I purchased my first Econo-Heat Heaater about 3 years ago for my family room. It has worked out so well for me that I decided to put another one in my bedroom in an effort to keep my gas heat bill down. My family room has its own heat/air unit (electric) and with the Econo-Heater I use a lot less electricity while keeping my large famly room comfortably warm on those cold, cold winter days. With the new heater going in my small bedroom, I think I can keep the central heating thermostat down very low and still find my bedroom comfortable enough at night. I do like a cooler bedroom. When the weather gets cold at the start of winter, I turn my heat unit on and just leave it on until spring when it is warm enough out to not need it any more. It really does cost about 3 cents per hour to operate. These units should be more readily available since they are well worth the cost.

  Cheap Heat!
Review created: 04/06/09

I can't find too much wrong with this heater. (one thing I will cover below)

First, they are economical! I was able to save hundreds of dollars on my propane bill this winter because I used these heaters as a supplement, which worked out great! My electric bill actuall went DOWN over $60 a month because they used less kwh than the fans on my gas heaters & the oil filled radiator I used in the past.

Second, they were a breeze to install, I had two done in under a half hour. From unpacking to hitting the switch!

Third, they heat up quite rapidly and the bedroom was toasty in the time it took me to change and get ready for bed.

We had some frigid weather here in Northeast PA this winter and I must say I was/am impressed with the performance and the price was well worth it!

The only drawback, I don't like about them is that even though there is the spacers between the unit and the wall, the wall does get very warm to the touch, sometimes down right hot behind the upper portion of the panel. I don't know if this is normal or if there is any danger, but when I felt it getting too warm I did not let them turned on when I wasn't home, only as a precaution.

There you have it! My two cents on the items and afew extra bucks in my wallet..
